Hiccups are the sudden movements of the diaphragm. It is involuntary --- you have no control over hiccups, as you well know. There are many causes of hiccups. The diaphragm may get irritated, you may have eaten too fast, or maybe some substance in the blood could even have brought on the hiccups.
Today we started the respiratory system. Try to find your pulse and count how many beats you have in one minute. Place your name and the number of beats in the Blog Bin and you can fill out a ticket!
We will begin the Respiratory System this week in science. I hope you read a good book while you were on vacation. Your reading teacher will explain the slideshow we are going to create in LMC. Don't forget to do your Too Good For Drugs homework. You will be meeting with Officer V on Tuesday. There will be no DG this week!!! Have a good week.
This will be my 14th year of teaching at Ivy Hill Elementary School in Arlington Heights, IL. I taught 9 years in grades 4 and 5 and am currently the LMC Director. I went to Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois.
